A prime surf spot on the Cote d’Argent— Europe's longest and straightest stretch of sand and home to some phenomenal waves.

Also home to Sandrine, the lithe Aquitaine goddess leading the class.

The lot of us do our best to stand up on our boards for longer than a second or two.

If only to try to impress Sandrine.

Later, I spot her at a table outside Bar Jean.

She's in the company friends and good talk.

Her laugh is magnetic. A thing you’d want to hear every day of your life.

Like rolling waves, bells, birdsong.
